KYDEX Thermoform Sheet: This premium KYDEX thermoform molding sheet features a P1 haircell texture on the top surface and an untextured bottom surface. KYDEX is the industry standard thermoform molding sheet material for DIY holster and sheath making. As a moldable plastic sheet, KYDEX can also be used to create thermoform imprints of almost any surface or shape. This popular material is used by amateur and professional thermoform molders, gun holster and knife sheath makers to create quality, professional-grade KYDEX protective covers for almost any size and shape of object.

Holstex Thermoform Sheet: HOLSTEX thermoform sheet is the most advanced material available for holster and sheath making use. This texture variant is called "Basketweave" and features a 3D textured surface that is compatible with the basketweave textures commonly seen on Law Enforcement belts, Police duty gear, and other custom leather items. Unlike the current Basketweave KYDEX sheet, which is an aftermarket basketweave texture applied to normal KYDEX sheet stock, the 3D texture on HOLSTEX Basketweave is a raised surface texture that does not distort or fade with forming.

For DIY thermoforming, Kydex and Holstex Thermoform Sheets are very similar to Boltaron in the way they form when heated and molded around an object. Once cooled, both materials will keep the shape of the item that was used to mold the shape into place. In their cooled state, they are very durable and lightweight. These sheets are used widely in thermoform holster making, cosplay costume creation, removable surface coverings, keel guard protectors, and much more.

Kydex Texture: The texture applied to the surface of the Kydex sheet is referred to as P1 "Hair Cell," which is a reference to the size and shape of the texture grain and is common on many Kydex items seen in the marketplace. P1 is the most common texture for holsters, sheaths, and other carry items. The texture on Kydex sheet is uniform across the surface of the material and produces a non-reflective, scratch-resistant finish.

Holstex Texture: The 3D texture on HOLSTEX Basketweave is a raised surface texture that does not distort or fade with forming like the aftermarket Kydex basketweave texture currently on the market. HOLSTEX basketweave forms exceptionally well at normal thermoforming temperatures (325ºF - 375ºF) and can be easily molded using both press-form and vacuum-forming equipment.

Easy to form: To use these thermoform sheets, score and cut a piece slightly larger than the object being covered. Heat the material to a 300-375 degree Fahrenheit range and place over the object. Using forming foam, press the material around the object and allow it to cool in position. Once cooled, remove and sand edges to desired shape. (Detailed instructions included with order.)
