The 23 standard KYDEX sheet colors that we stock were primarily developed for the custom holster and sheath making market over the last 20 years, but can also work in many other DIY projects. The KYDEX solid colors were designed to match specific color standards within the various genres that they were blended for, allowing customers to match most of the existing outdoor, survival, military, and law enforcement clothing and gear when creating their custom projects. KYDEX sheet colors such as hot pink, hunter orange, purple haze, and tiffany blue were designed to add spice to lifestyle holster making, a very popular trend.

We offer three different sheet sizes: 8in x 8in, 8in x 12in, and 12in x 12in. The KYDEX thermoform sheets are easy to form and can be used for a variety of applications, including knife sheaths, phone holsters, light-bearing holsters, multi-tool holsters, and dump trays.

The KYDEX thermoform sheet is very similar to both Holstex and Boltaron in the way it forms when heated and molded around an object. Once cooled, the material will keep the shape of the item that was used to mold it, and it is very durable and lightweight. KYDEX is used widely in thermoform holster making, cosplay costume creation, removable surface coverings, keel guard protectors, and much more.

The texture applied to the surface of the KYDEX sheet is referred to as P1 "Hair Cell," which is a reference to the size and shape of the texture grain. This is the most common texture for holsters, sheaths, and other carry items, producing a non-reflective, scratch-resistant finish.

To use KYDEX thermoform sheet, simply score and cut a piece slightly larger than the object being covered, heat the material to a 300-375 degree Fahrenheit range, and place it over the object. Using forming foam, press the material around the object and allow it to cool in position. Once cooled, remove and sand the edges to the desired shape.
