The KYDEX thermoform molding sheet is a premium material for DIY holster and sheath making. This version features a P1 haircell texture on the top surface and an untextured bottom surface. KYDEX is the industry standard for thermoform molding sheets, allowing users to create professional-grade KYDEX protective covers for almost any size and shape of object. This popular material is used by both amateur and professional thermoform molders, as well as gun holster and knife sheath makers.

HOLSTEX thermoform sheet is the most advanced material available for holster and sheath making. This "Basketweave" texture variant features a 3D textured surface that is compatible with the basketweave textures commonly seen on law enforcement belts, police duty gear, and other custom leather items. Unlike the current aftermarket basketweave KYDEX sheet, which applies a basketweave texture to normal KYDEX, the 3D texture on HOLSTEX Basketweave is a raised surface that does not distort or fade with forming. This revolutionary texture option is a significant step forward for professional sheath and holster makers.

The bundle includes one Kydex Thermoform Sheet (P1 Texture, Black, 0.080 thickness, 12in x 12in) and one Holstex Thermoform Sheet (Basketweave Texture, Black, 0.080 thickness, 12in x 12in). Both Kydex and Holstex thermoform sheets are similar to Boltaron in the way they form when heated and molded around an object, retaining the shape once cooled. In their cooled state, these durable and lightweight sheets are widely used for thermoform holster making, cosplay costume creation, removable surface coverings, keel guard protectors, and much more.

The P1 "Hair Cell" texture applied to the Kydex sheet is a common and popular choice for holsters, sheaths, and other carry items. This uniform, non-reflective, and scratch-resistant finish is a reference to the size and shape of the texture grain.

The 3D basketweave texture on the HOLSTEX sheet forms exceptionally well at normal thermoforming temperatures (325°F - 375°F) and does not distort at the higher ends of the heating range. This unique texture can be easily molded using both press-form and vacuum-forming equipment.

To use these thermoform sheets, score and cut a piece slightly larger than the object being covered, heat the material to 300-375 degrees Fahrenheit, and place it over the object. Using forming foam, press the material around the object and allow it to cool in position. Once cooled, remove and sand the edges to the desired shape.
