The base sheet is 0.08-gauge cell/smooth finish Blizzard White KYDEX, sold in (11.5 x 11.5) inch nominal size sheets. KYDEX thermoform sheets are very similar to Holstex and Boltaron in their formability when heated and molded. Once cooled, the material retains the shape of the item used to mold it. In its cooled state, it is highly durable and lightweight. This material is extensively used for holster making, cosplay costume creation, keel guard protectors, and much more.

To use the KYDEX thermoform sheet, score and cut a piece slightly larger than the object being covered. Heat the material to 300-375 degrees Fahrenheit and place it over the object. Using forming foam, press the material around the object and allow it to cool in position. Once cooled, remove and sand the edges to the desired shape.
