This texture variant, called "Carbon Fiber," features a 3D textured surface that ensures ultimate formability, as the texture is uniformly visible from any angle in the final formed object. No other material offers this standard feature, effectively doubling the application potential of the material.

Kydex Holster Molding Press:

The CKK sheath/holster molding press, built from rugged 1/4 inch steel plate with a full black surface coating, is the industry standard in thermoplastic forming presses. Designed by experts for experts, this forming press will last a lifetime and is used daily in our shop. Our professional forming system is perfect for making flat-faced (one-sided) or a full fold-over (wrapped style) sheaths and holsters, commonly used for securing knives, handguns, web-gear, flashlights, magazine clips, cell phones, and many other desired items. The 12-inch bench model press comes complete with pre-drilled footer holes to accommodate stable production mounting, and the top plate has a channel locking system to allow you to lock it down in place using the supplied retention chain, enabling you to walk away and do other processes while your heated KYDEX, HOLSTEX, or Boltaron sheet material is cooling into final form.

For DIY Thermoforming:

Holstex Carbon Fiber Textured Sheet is very similar to both Kydex and Boltaron in the way it forms when heated and molded around an object. Once cooled, this material will keep the shape of the item that was used to mold the shape into place. In its cooled state, it is very durable and lightweight, and is used widely in thermoform holster making, cosplay costume creation, removable surface coverings, keel guard protectors, and much more.

3K Twill Carbon Fiber Texture:

The carbon fiber texture applied to the surface of the Holstex sheet is referred to as a 3K Twill pattern, which is a common reference to the size and shape of the texture on many carbon fiber items. 3K Twill is the most common carbon fiber weave size, and the carbon fiber texture on Holstex sheet is 3-dimensional, providing wonderful contrasts and lighting reflections, giving its appearance a striking effect on finished items.

Molding Press:

The Kydex Molding Press, built from rugged 0.25-inch steel plate with a full black surface coating, is the industry standard in thermoplastic forming presses. It is perfect for making flat-faced or a full fold-over sheath and holster, commonly used for securing knives, firearms, web-gear, flashlights, magazine clips, cell phones, and many other items. Using this tool, you can make wraparound sheaths/holsters with both pieces of foam.

How to Use:

To use this tool, simply heat your thermoplastic material to 300-375 degrees (depending on heating time and oven used), cover or wrap your item with the heated material, and then place the wrapped item in the molding press and apply pressure (chain locking optional). Our molding press will do the work for you and quickly improve the quality of your sheaths and holsters.

Foam:

This model of the Kydex Press uses Maxx Form for the center foam of the press. This molding foam has been specifically engineered for use in press molding sheet materials like Kydex, Holstex, and Boltaron, and greatly minimizes memory artifacts due to its superior chemical formulation. This foam can also be used on both sides, making it the standard for thermoform molding applications.
