All sizes have a thickness of 0.080 inches and a high-gloss P3 texture, which is a common finish for many KYDEX products in the market, such as holsters and sheaths.

For DIY thermoforming, KYDEX Liquid Metal is comparable to both Holstex and Boltaron. When heated and molded around an object, the material retains the shape upon cooling. In its cooled state, KYDEX Liquid Metal is durable, lightweight, and produces a shiny finish.

To use the KYDEX Liquid Metal thermoform sheet, score and cut a piece slightly larger than the object being covered. Heat the material to a temperature range of 300-375 degrees Fahrenheit and place it over the object. Using forming foam, press the material around the object and allow it to cool in position.
