• For DIY thermoforming: Kydex Thermoform Sheet is similar to Holstex and Boltaron in the way it forms when heated and molded around an object. Once cooled, this material will retain the shape of the item used for molding. In its cooled state, it is durable and lightweight. It is widely used in thermoform holster making, cosplay costume creation, removable surface coverings, keel guard protectors, and more.
• Texture: P1 Hair Cell | Type: T (A Grade): The texture on the Kydex sheet is known as P1 "Hair Cell". This refers to the size and shape of the texture grain and is commonly found on Kydex items in the market. P1 is the most common texture for holsters, sheaths, and carry items. The texture is uniform across the surface and creates a non-reflective, scratch-resistant finish.
• Easy to form: To use Kydex thermoform sheet, score and cut a slightly larger piece than the object to be covered. Heat the material to a temperature range of 300-375 degrees Fahrenheit and place it over the object. Use forming foam to press the material around the object and let it cool in place. Once cooled, remove and sand the edges to the desired shape. (Detailed instructions included with order.)
